El Índice Nacional de Precios al Consumidor (INPC) es una medida del cambio promedio en los precios de los productos que integran una canasta de bienes y servicios representativa del consumo de los hogares del país, a lo largo del tiempo.
En la primera quincena de marzo de 2026, el INPC registró un nivel de 145.446: aumentó 0.62 % respecto a la quincena anterior. Con este resultado, la inflación general anual se ubicó en 4.63 por ciento. En el mismo periodo de 2025, la inflación quincenal fue de 0.14 % y la anual, de 3.67 % (ver gráfica 1).
El índice de precios subyacente, que excluye bienes y servicios con precios más volátiles o que no responden a condiciones de mercado, incrementó 0.22 % a tasa quincenal. A su interior, los precios de las mercancías subieron 0.20 % y los de servicios, 0.25 por ciento.
A tasa quincenal, el índice de precios no subyacente creció 1.96 por ciento. Dentro de este, los precios de frutas y verduras ascendieron 8.34 % y los de energéticos y tarifas autorizadas por el gobierno, 0.48 %.

Annual inflation was 4.63% in the first half of March 2026
The National Consumer Price Index (INPC) is a measure of the average change in the prices of products that make up a basket of goods and services representative of household consumption in the country, over time.
In the first half of March 2026, the INPC registered a level of 145.446: an increase of 0.62% compared to the previous two-week period. With this result, the annual headline inflation rate stood at 4.63%. In the same period of 2025, the two-week inflation rate was 0.14% and the annual rate was 3.67% (see graph 1).
The core price index, which excludes goods and services with more volatile prices or those that do not respond to market conditions, increased by 0.22% on a two-week basis. Within this index, the prices of goods rose by 0.20% and those of services by 0.25%.
On a bi-weekly basis, the non-core price index rose 1.96 percent. Within this index, fruit and vegetable prices increased 8.34 percent, while energy and government-regulated prices rose 0.48 percent.
