Tlalnepantla, Estado de México, a 9 de marzo de 2026.- Actualmente, el equilibrio entre la vida personal y laboral adquiere cada vez mayor relevancia, el tiempo de traslado hacia el trabajo se ha convertido en un factor clave para los profesionistas al momento de evaluar una oportunidad laboral. Más allá del salario, la distancia entre el hogar y la oficina puede influir directamente en la calidad de vida, la productividad y el bienestar de los colaboradores.
El “Termómetro Laboral” de OCC preguntó a los trabajadores sobre el tiempo que invierten en trasladarse de sus hogares al trabajo. Los resultados muestran que:
* 44% tarda menos de una hora.
* 35% invierte entre una y dos horas.
* 11% trabaja desde casa.
* 10% destina más de dos horas.
El sondeo también analizó si los encuestados considerarían una oferta de empleo ubicada lejos de su hogar a cambio de algún beneficio adicional.
* 84% sí aceptaría una oportunidad laboral lejos de su hogar; de ese total:
* 54% lo haría con un esquema híbrido.
* 19% si le ofrecen transporte corporativo.
* 11% si le brindan apoyo para gasolina.
* 16% dijo que no tomaría la oferta por la distancia.
Más allá de la distancia, los resultados reflejan una transformación en las prioridades de los trabajadores: hoy las decisiones laborales no se basan solo en el salario, sino en las condiciones que permitan equilibrar el trabajo con la vida personal. En este escenario, las empresas que integren esquemas flexibles, apoyos de movilidad o modelos híbridos, además de atraer talento, también podrán responder a una realidad urbana donde el tiempo se ha convertido en uno de los recursos más valiosos.
84% of workers in Mexico would accept a job offer located far from their home
The “Work Thermometer” reveals that most professionals would consider job opportunities farther away if they include additional benefits.

Beyond salary, the distance between home and the office can directly influence the quality of life, productivity, and well-being of employees.
The OCC “Work Thermometer” survey asked workers about the time they spend commuting from their homes to work.
The results show that:
* 44% spend less than one hour.
* 35% spend between one and two hours.
* 11% work from home.
* 10% spend more than two hours commuting.
The survey also analyzed whether respondents would consider a job offer located far from their home in exchange for additional benefits.
* 84% would accept a job opportunity far from home; of that total:
* 54% would do so with a hybrid arrangement.
* 19% if offered company transportation.
* 11% if offered a fuel allowance.
* 16% said they would not accept the offer due to the distance.
Beyond distance, the results reflect a shift in workers’ priorities: today, employment decisions are based not only on salary, but also on conditions that allow for a better work-life balance. In this context, companies that integrate flexible work arrangements, mobility support, or hybrid models, in addition to attracting talent, will also be able to respond to an urban reality where time has become one of the most valuable resources.
