I. CONVENIOS DE TRABAJO PREJUDICIALES

INEGI publishes statistics on local labor relations

In 2025, 515,780 pre-trial labor agreements were signed based on 481,838 cases.

• 104,741 labor disputes (individual and collective) and 1,496 strike notices were registered.

The National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) publishes the main results of the 2025 Statistics on Labor Relations at the Local Jurisdiction (ERLAJUL), with information on disputes arising from labor relations. This edition used 457 reporting sources: 129 local labor conciliation centers (CCL), 170 local labor courts (TLL), and 158 local conciliation and arbitration boards (JLCA).

Nationally, 515,780 pre-trial labor agreements were registered, linked to 481,838 cases, 104,741 labor disputes (individual and collective), and 1,496 strike notices. Most of the disagreements were resolved through pre-trial agreements. These three modalities in local labor relations constitute the starting point for reaching further stages in the resolution of emerging disputes.

I. PRE-Trial Labor Agreements

In 2025, 515,780 pre-trial labor agreements were signed, stemming from 481,838 cases that achieved labor conciliation before trial. Each worker involved in these cases signed an agreement. The most frequent types of agreements in pre-trial labor settlements were voluntary retirement, at 44.7%, and severance pay, at 36.2% (see Figure 1). The states with the highest number of pre-trial settlements were Nuevo León, at 11.8%; Sonora, at 10.4%; Jalisco, at 8.1%; Mexico City, at 7.8%; Coahuila, at 7.6%; and Guanajuato, at 7.3%.

The Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS) publishes the Labor Reform Indicators and Statistics platform (Inderlab). The difference between the individual pre-trial settlements, based on the records collected by the Labor Relations Offices (ERLAJUL) and those published by the STPS through Inderlab, lies in the time frame at which the information is collected in the Labor Relations Offices (CCL).

II. LABOR DISPUTES

During 2025, 104,741 labor disputes were filed nationwide: 99.8% were individual and 0.2% were collective. Of the individual labor disputes, claims for unfair dismissal accounted for the highest percentage, at 59.5%.

Meanwhile, among the collective disputes, the most frequent reason was a claim regarding contract ownership, at 56.7%. This was followed by suspension of employment relationships, at 6.2%.
