El Sindicato Independiente de Trabajadores de Audi México (SITAUDI) aceptó la propuesta de la empresa para el nuevo contrato que incluye un 19.5% de aumento salarial; 4.5% directo al salario y un 15% restante en prestaciones.

Desde anoche y hasta las 07:00 horas de este 24 de junio, los sindicalizados acudieron a votar a su sede. Cerca de 2 mil 424 de los 3 mil 752 agremiados al SITAUDI, un 65%, respaldaron la propuesta realizada hace unos días por la armadora alemana de vehículos instalada en el municipio de San José Chiapa, en Puebla.

Audi México ofreció un aumento de dos dígitos pero con sólo un 4.6% directo al salario y el restante 14.9% en prestaciones; lo contrario a los que solicitaron en marzo pasado los agremiados en el Sindicato Independiente de Trabajadores de Audi México (SITAUDI), que consiste en un 20% de aumento total, 15% directo al salario y otro 5% en prestaciones.

La petición de los trabajadores se discutió el pasado 16 de junio y se acordó una prórroga de diez días para que la empresa hiciera una nueva propuesta, misma que se votará la noche del 24 de junio.

Puebla: How was the conflict between Audi and the union solved?

The Independent Union of Audi Mexico Workers (SITAUDI) accepted the company’s proposal for a new contract, which includes a 19.5% salary increase: 4.5% directly to wages and the remaining 15% in benefits.

From last night until 7:00 a.m. this morning, June 24, union members voted at their headquarters. Approximately 2,424 of the 3,752 SITAUDI members, or 65%, supported the proposal made a few days ago by the German automaker located in the municipality of San José Chiapa, Puebla.

Audi Mexico offered a double-digit increase, but with only 4.6% directly to wages and the remaining 14.9% in benefits. This is contrary to the demands made last March by members of the Independent Union of Audi Mexico Workers (SITAUDI), which included a 20% total increase, 15% directly to salary and another 5% in benefits.

The workers’ request was discussed on June 16, and a ten-day extension was granted for the company to submit a new proposal, which will be voted on the evening of June 24.

The company’s proposal includes a guaranteed profit-sharing bonus of 25,000 pesos, an amount higher than the 7,000 pesos that workers received last year.

The vote will begin at 7:00 p.m. on June 23 and conclude at 7:00 a.m. on June 24. If the proposal is approved by the workforce, there will be no strike at Audi Mexico.

The only time a strike broke out at Audi Mexico since its arrival in Puebla in 2016 was at the end of January 2024, and it lasted for 25 days. In the end, the workers accepted a 10.2% overall increase: 7% directly to wages and 3.2% in benefits.

Audi sales increase in 2026

From January to May 2026, Audi Mexico sold 3,756 units of the Q5 SUV, the only model manufactured at the Puebla plant. This figure represents 305 more SUVs than the 3,451 sold during the same period in 2025, according to figures from the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI).

At Volkswagen de México, the other Volkswagen Group company located in the state of Puebla, the Independent Union of Volkswagen Mexico Workers (SITIAVW) announced that it will request a 17% overall increase. 13% directly to salary and the remaining 4% in benefits.

The list of demands will be submitted between July 17 and 18 and will request a review of 86 clauses in the collective bargaining agreement.
